We do not recommend walking or wading across the sandbar to Penguin Island. Strong rips and currents can occur, and the water depth and conditions change rapidly. There have been fatalities in this area. The best and safest way to get to Penguin Island is to board the ferry across, which departs hourly from 9am to 3pm. You may purchase ferry tickets here.
